Katt Williams arrested on burglary charges in Georgia



Comedian Katt Williams best known for his slicked back hair and potty-mouth approach was picked up in Newnan, Georgia for trying to break into a home. Williams best known for The Pimp Chronicles, and his role on Nick Cannon's top-rated MTV improv show, Wild 'n Out. In addition, to packed performances at The Improv and The Comedy Club and frequent appearances on the BET Network in shows such as the Rip the Runway and Comic View - not to forget numerous movies and television shows.

According to hiphop.popcrunch.com, Williams was inspired by great comedians such as: Whoopi Goldberg, Eddie Murhpy, Richard Pryor, Don Knotts, Bill Cosby, George Carlin, Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle. The Hip Hop community embraced him as one of their own, with Master P singing his praises as the next Richard Pryor and Snoop Dogg comparing his flamboyance, style, and spirit to both Richard Pryor and Red Foxx.

Recently, Williams has had some issues. In November 2008, Katt Williams was admitted a South Carolina medical center for a psychiatric evaluation due to unexplained incidents involving erratic behavior, including being briefly jailed in New York City after being stopped for driving without a license plate - three guns were found in the car. Weapons charges were later dropped. A publicist blamed a hectic tour schedule and "incredible" fatigue.

In this latest arrest, Williams was charged with burglary and criminal trespass. He is scheduled to appear before a magistrate Monday November 9th 4 p.m. ET. Eligibility for bond will be decided at that time.
